About the podcast
Washed Up Emo started as a podcast in 2011 after Tom realized a noticeable void of podcasts from the genre. Utilizing music industry connections and his background as a college radio DJ, it quickly snowballed with critical acclaim after a few episodes. The never- ending mountain of guests over the years have included Fugazi, The Promise Ring, American Football, Mineral, Taking Back Sunday, The Get Up Kids, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbreaker, Senses Fail, Cursive, and Jimmy Eat World.
Now, after 9+ years and 170+ episodes, the Washed Up Emo Podcast has one goal: to represent the entire history of emo for all fans of the genre.
